Remote Work option - This person will work their first 90 days in the office. If there is completion of successful 90 day evaluation, this person will have the opportunity to work 8 days per month in the office and the rest from home.
Salary range for this position is $91.291- $107,411. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Analyst leads peer teams in translating data into actionable information that assists leadership with decision making for operational and strategic areas including improved clinical outcomes, financial performance, productivity improvement, cost optimization, staffing, strategic market analysis, investment analysis, space or supply utilization, and system integration. The Senior Analyst is accountable for the Executive Dashboard including all non-technical processes, analyses, recommendations and training related to the Dashboard. The Senior Analyst is responsible for timely, innovative analysis and interpretation, building business intelligence applications and presenting recommendations to management. Works with leadership throughout the Ministry to analyze operational and strategic performance to identify gaps, establish targets and devise the most efficient and effective methods for measuring and displaying performance, including training for business intelligence and analytic tools. Examples of these tools include: Dashboards, Explorers, Intake Tools, Report Inventory, Portals and reports delivered through SharePoint Technology, QlikView, HBI, iVantage and Crimson, etc., utilized across the OSF Ministry. The Senior Analyst helps OSF improve its healthcare delivery system by using analytical tools and problem solving techniques to transform data, analyze the results, synthesize solutions, and support decision-making.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY:
Leads peer teams in providing timely, innovative analyses and interpretation to leaders throughout the ministry.
Responsible for development and delivery of the Executive Dashboard to Senior Leadership. Includes working with Goal Owners to develop new and revised metrics and targets including data collection, validation, troubleshooting, presentation, publishing and training of the Executive Dashboard.
Supports quality improvement efforts and strategic initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and the utilization of human, capital, and physical resources.
Assumes ownership in analyzing and interpreting data and making recommendations to management. Responsible for presentation of findings, conclusions, and recommendations to leadership and clinical partners in a cohesive data story that is innovative, descriptive, organized, and visually compelling.
Develops reports and analytical tools and provides timely data and information to leadership based on key performance data from clinical, strategic, financial, and operational systems.
Responsible for timely, accurate, comprehensive data mining and analyses related to operational performance, clinical practice models, cost improvement and quality indicators.
Audits and validates data against other sources and communicates data deficiencies. Offers solutions to improve data integrity as needed.
Assesses educational gaps and opportunities to ensure analytic tools are utilized to optimal capabilities and provides support for business leaders to ensure effective training and use of complex analytic tools across the Ministry.
Maintains knowledge of current trends and development in healthcare delivery, statistical analysis, business intelligence analysis and design, business and statistical software applications, clinical quality indicators and process improvement methodologies by reading appropriate journals, researching online, attending seminars, webinars, and conferences.
Mentors and trains others in the department, particularly new hires.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, nursing, engineering, information systems, analytics, business, finance, economics, or health care administration.
6 years of work experience with progressively increasing responsibility in healthcare, business intelligence, analytics, operations, finance, or information systems are required.
Must be able to manage risk and ambiguity, work effectively with operational staff, leadership, and clinicians to define scope, and be able to manage multiple and often changing priorities.
Time management skills required to deliver high-quality reports and information in a dynamic environment with critical deadlines.
Strong analytical skills are required to address clinical, operational and system related problems, to gather and interpret clinical and financial data, and to prepare clear, concise management reports.
