Accounting Manager Essential Functions*:
Provide financial and analytical support and serve as a key business partner and advisor to the General Manager and Plant Staff.
Support continuous improvement efforts and drive actions with plant leadership.
Prepare, analyze, and present financial results compared to the annual business plan and periodic forecasting scenarios. Initiate and implement timely corrective action with plant leadership to capitalize on opportunities for improvement.
Develop and measure key financial performance indicators.
Monitor and evaluate monthly spending and absorption levels to meet company goals.
Lead monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process at the plant level.
Coordinate and support internal, external, and SOX audits while participating in the audit reviews to ensure no material audit adjustments or material internal control weaknesses are noted.
Assist in planning, developing, and coordinating the implementation of financial accounting systems. Formulate user plans that support Plant and Division objectives and coordinate activities with Information Technology.
Effectively and professionally, represent the plant in Corporate and government reporting matters.
Responsible for ensuring adequate internal controls around the Reporting Cycle, G/L maintenance, JE control, Account Reconciliation, User Privileges, Period-Open/Close, and Risk Management Assessment.
Review and evaluate proposed capital investments.
Responsible for inventory valuation based on FIFO and LIFO valuations.
Accounting Manager Position Requirements*:
BS/BA** in Accounting, Finance, or related degree. MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years recent related Manufacturing Accounting experience. Financial reporting experience preferred.
Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Good working knowledge of SAP or other major accounting system.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and follow-through skills.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), leadership, and project management skills.
Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and management within areas of responsibility.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management.
This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
