Assistant Fiscal Officer

Southern Seven Health Department is seeking applications for a regular, full time Assistant Fiscal Officer position that is based at the Administrative Office in Ullin, Illinois. This position does come with a benefit package, including vacation, personal, and sick time accrual, holidays, health and life insurance, and an employer sponsored cafeteria plan.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Fiscal Officer is responsible for Assisting the Financial Administrator with the overall fiscal management of the agency, including grant management, general ledger and financial reporting, budget preparation and monitoring, and ensuring that financial records are kept in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and all other federal and state regulations and requirements. Maintains and accounts for all income and expenses of the agency.

Pay Range: $26.67-$29.34

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting , or Business, or approved related (Master's Degree preferred)
• Preferred three (3) years of successful work experience

  Job Duties:

  • Prepares monthly or other reports and provides accurate and timely information within area of responsibility as required by the Fiscal Officer
  • Posts the following into the MIP system: cash transfers, bank charges, interest earned, and general and administrative charges
  • Monitors expenditures according to budget and spending plans on assigned programs
  • Analyzes General Ledger (revenue, expenditures, accounts receivable and payables)
  • Works in conjunction with the Purchasing Specialist to maintain an accurate equipment inventory list. Responsible for assuring the accuracy of disposals, additions, and yearly depreciation
