Job Description
General Summary of Position Responsibility:

The Associate Chief Information Officer will act as a partner and chief of staff to the CIO, driving high-quality operations, effective communication, and efficient decision-making within the IM division. This leader will be responsible for directly working with the CIO to operationalize IM strategy, manage the business of IM, improve the overall IM operation, and act as an enterprise escalation point. This is a key leadership role that requires exceptional organization, strategic thinking, analytical, and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of technology, financial management, and business processes.

The Associate CIO will partner with the business, build strong relationships with senior management and key stakeholders, lead the IM strategy implementation, and ensure IM alignment to Lurie Children's business goals. The Associate CIO will have direct oversight and leadership over the IM PMO, IM Governance, IM Change Management, IM Operational Efficiency, and the IM Business Office.

The Associate CIO will need demonstrated skills around the following competencies to be successful: building relationships within IM and with the business, team leadership, healthcare business acumen, organizational change management, strategic and operational planning, change advocate, and results orientation.

The Associate Chief Information Officer is responsible for leading the annual budgeting process, cost optimization initiatives, and key departmental performance metrics. Ensures systems performance and service level requirements are met. Manages strategic relationships with product and service providers.

Area Specific Job Accountabilities:

Act as a trusted advisor and chief of staff to the CIO, IM leaders, and business executives. Assess operational issues, lead problem solving, and provide analysis to support the CIO in decision making related to technology investments, resource allocation, and IM operations. Provide forward-thinking IM expertise that supports business decisions and overall program / project planning.
