Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Security and Loss Prevention the Senior Manager, Workplace Violence Prevention is responsible for planning, developing, and managing an effective workplace violence prevention program that creates a safe and secure environment for all team members.
You will coordinate with various subsidiaries, departments, and business units to conduct risk assessments, vet and execute training programs, and manage protocols for incident response. You will manage the safety and security of team members and executives during business travel. You will provide oversight of Mexico Security team responsible for safeguarding company assets, team member safety and minimization of losses.
The Senior Manager, Workplace Violence Prevention will provide support and guidance to Grainger's multidisciplinary threat management team as they assess concerning and unusual situations quickly and reliably, while exercising judgment, diplomacy, and initiativeYou Will
Maintain the workplace violence prevention program, policies, and procedures.
Research relevant legislation, best practices, and industry trends in workplace violence prevention.
Develop, coordinate, and manage reviews including bullying, stalking, acts of violence and other behaviors that may impact the work environment.
Conduct assessments to identify potential risk factors and vulnerabilities within the workplace.
Manage global security issues and risk assessment methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for mitigating identified risks.
Apply expertise in physical security concepts, security systems, investigations, and crisis management.
Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for team members to recognize and prevent workplace violence.
Foster a culture of awareness and reporting of workplace violence issues.
Develop and implement protocols for responding to and managing workplace violence incidents.
Collaborate with law enforcement, internal and external stakeholders to ensure a swift and appropriate response to incidents.
Establish clear lines of communication for reporting and addressing workplace violence concerns.
Prepare and present regular reports on program effectiveness, incidents, and preventive measures to senior management.
Oversee multidisciplinary risk management team activity and manage the administrative, operational, investigative and data functions of the program.
Performs other duties as assigned.You Have
Bachelor's degree in relevant field; (e.g., Criminal Justice, Security Management, Human Resources).
Experience in Security or Federal Law Enforcement management.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to workplace violence prevention.
Demonstrated experience in risk management, crisis management, mediation conversations, interviews and active listening.
Familiarity with threat management, risk assessment and applicable tools.
Working knowledge of interpersonal violence and human behavior.
Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) certification or demonstrated experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, with individuals and groups from diverse identities, cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives.
Strong public speaking and oral and written communication.
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
Ability to respond to issues or concern during off hours.Rewards and Benefits
