Position Highlights:
Position: Medical Physicist
Location: Evanston, IL
Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem/ Registry
Hours: Day: 7:30-4pm as needed
Required Travel: limited local travel

What you will need:

Education: Master's Degree or PhD in Physical Sciences required
Experience: 8+ years' work experience as a clinical Medical Physicist in a Radiation Oncology setting required.
Skills: Analytical skills necessary to develop/evaluate a patient's treatment plan based on the physician's assessment and the information obtained from CT, MRI, PET and other imaging modalities. Communication skills necessary to confer with the Radiation Oncologist, other Physicists and other medical staff regarding the patient's treatment and progress.

What you will do:
Independently perform all mandatory quality assurance tests for the treatment units.
Independently investigate and troubleshoot any issues on the treatment units.
Demonstrate the ability to perform all calibrations of the treatment units.
Independently create and/or evaluate highly complex treatment planning including 3D Conformal, IMRT, SBRT, SRS, HDR, LDR
Discuss and review treatment plans with all clinical staff including physicians, dosimetrists and therapists.
Assist the radiation oncologist during special treatment procedures including brachytherapy and radiopharmaceutical cases.
Stay updated on advancements in medical physics and radiation therapy through continuous learning and professional development and recommend equipment upgrades as needed.
