Description
The Dosimetrist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Dosimetrist is responsible for developing computer generated treatment plans in order to deliver radiation to a defined tumor volume as prescribed by the radiation oncologist. Duties will include use of a variety of treatment planning systems to complete image fusions, tissue contouring, beam design, plan optimization, dose calculations, and all documentation necessary for the completion of treatment plans. On a regular basis, the Dosimetrist will participate in Dosimetry Rounds/Chart Rounds, a weekly staff Dosimetry meeting, and a weekly combined Physics/Dosimetry department meeting.

Qualifications
Required:
Graduate of a Medical Dosimetry school or a certified radiation therapist with 3 or more years on the job training as a Medical Dosimetrist.
Technical problem solving.
Provide excellent care for all patients, regardless of age, race, sexual orientation or religion.
Ability to work flexible hours if needed.
Excellent computer skills, preferably including use of XiO, Raystation, Eclipse, Tomotherapy, GE Advantage Sim, RadCalc, Mosaiq and/or Velocity.
Strong understanding of anatomy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Adobe products.
Ability to multitask and be self-directed.
New graduate of an accredited Medical Dosimetry program:
Beginning 09/01/2013, if not board certified must be board eligible on hire AND must receive board certification by the MDCB within 3 years of hire.
Preferred:
2 to 3 years of experience as a Dosimetrist with proton experience.
Bachelor's degree, specifically in Radiation Therapy, Math, or Physics.
Teaching skills a plus since we host a Dosimetry student yearly.
Board certified.
