Job Description
Responsible for developing, directing and coordinating material planning activities. Enhance customer service levels by balancing supply and demand. Direct the team in the use of best practices in the daily execution of finished goods and WIP planning. Manage, coach and mentor a team. Work with the team on continuous development and performance management. Direct activities of Planners to ensure that inventory level and turn goals are achieved, including reduction of back orders and enhancing customer service. Meet with Senior Management to obtain strategic information that could impact the forecast. Work with team to modify the forecast for historical and environmental events. Work closely with different departments to accurately develop and maintain an accurate forecast. Hold cross-functional meetings to review the Supply and Demand plan. Review issues and make recommendations that deal with long-term constraints, customer service levels, inventory targets, and current forecast, and backlogs.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline, or foreign equivalent, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a closely related position.
Special Requirements: Experience must include 2 years with the following:
- Reading, analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures.
- Writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Functional, technical and people/process management skills and customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
- Computing rate, ratio and percent. Drawing and interpreting graphs. Working with mathematical concepts, including probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
- Presenting effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and boards of directors.
