Job Description
The mission of Champaign County Head Start/Early Head Start is to support the diverse children and families of our community in reaching their fullest potential by providing comprehensive services and developing partnerships that enhance child and family development, health and education. Champaign County Head Start is looking for Bus Drivers to join our TEAM!
This position is responsible for providing SAFE bus services to children at our Head Start Sites.
Champaign County Head Start provides training, for the selected applicants, to obtain the required Commercial Driver’s License and DOT testing.
- Successfully complete a criminal background check
- PREFERRED: Current CDL and Bus Driver’s Permit (Applicants with prior bus operator experience will be given preference.)
- Ability to lift 60 pounds
- Transport preschoolers with a bus monitor
- High School diploma or equivalent
- REQUIRED: Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Bus Driver’s Permit
- Ability to always practice inclusivity and civility.
Starting Hourly Wage: $20.37 (Non- CDL)
$20.88 - $21.88 (CDL) DOQ (Depending On Qualifications)
Status: Full-Time/School-Year/30 hours per week
Schedule: 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (M-F)
