General Information & Responsibilities
The Welcome Center Work Study Student provides general receptionist and customer service duties including greeting and referring individuals, operating the telephone switchboard, and maintaining the operations of the Welcome Center area.Description of Duties
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
a. Greets and refers individuals to appropriate staff or College services.
Provides information and telephone switchboard service for the Campus utilizing the software/system located at the primary Welcome Desk on campus.c. Provides accurate general college information to individuals upon request.
d. Communicates new or updated information to co-workers.
e. Creates and maintains job aids specific to Welcome Center functions.
f. Provides word processing and other clerical duties as needed.
g. Performs opening and/or closing procedures.
DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES:
a. Responsible for neat and clean work area.
Performs general clerical duties and assists with various projects as assigned.c. Maintains confidentiality of information collected and distributed.
d. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
OVERALL ACOUNTABILITIES:

PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
a. Works directly and cooperatively with the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Instruction.
Works directly with College employees, current and prospective students, and the general public.c. Works cooperatively with all College Faculty.
Education & Experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)
a. Must be current Black Hawk College student enrolled in 6 or more credit hours per semester.
Must receive Financial Aidc. Must be approved for Work Study by Financial Aid and Human Resources
d. Cumulative 2.0 GPA.

The Federal Work Study Program provides jobs for students at Black Hawk College demonstrating financial need. Eligible students typically work between 6 – 15 hours per week. In order to qualify for the Federal Work Study Program, you must:- Receive Financial Aid

- Current BHC student enrolled in 6 or more credit hours per semester
