POSITION SUMMARY:
Interface with operations management to ensure job revenue and profit are accurately recorded in accordance with contractual terms. Responsible for summarizing and analyzing job related accounting information, ensuring compliance with internal controls. Identify and communicate areas of financial risk.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure owner billings are prepared timely and in accordance with contractual terms and ensure job costs are processed in accordance with company internal control procedures.
Responsible for understanding contracts billed, past due receivable explanations, and unbilled costs.
Responsible for coordinating the preparation of and analyzing revenue and job profits for annual business plan, quarterly projections and strategic plan.
Responsible for the accuracy of project financial statement information to include job setup information, revenue, job profits, job potential profits, past due receivables, late/unbilled costs, gross earnings variance and project history report.
Coordinate Review Cost At Completion (CAC) reports each month end. Identify revenue and profit changes; provide financial analysis. Attend cost at completion meetings.
Work with Operations Management to prepare yearly fiscal plan and projections.
Estimate and monitor SG&A spending for respective office.
Understand cash position of projects.
Participate in the annual budgeting process and sales plans
Coordinate owner audits. Ensure all issues are addressed and that the audit conclusions are known.
Handle collection efforts of accounts receivable as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors in Accounting or Business Discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or equivalent
Proven experience in finance management
Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals
High fluency in accounting systems and spreadsheets
Able to communicate with all levels within the organization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
3 years solar industry knowledge
Prior experience analyzing and developing a company's financials
Acting in a leadership role for a financial accounting department
Experience using CMiC or other construction focused ERP
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
Auditing experience
