The North American Shopper Insights Manager will support Mars Food through harnessing the potential of rich customer data sets (Luminate, 84.51, EYC, LDIA) as well as national data sets (Nielsen, IRI, Numerator, Kantar) to generate shopper specific insights for National and retailer specific selling stories across the US and Canada. They will play a critical role in preparation for Ready-to-Sell materials, customer Top-2-Top meetings, Joint Business Planning sessions, Innovation Experiences, FMI Executive Meetings, and category/shopper research projects, enabling our Sales Organization to achieve our growth agenda.

As a member of the Mars Food NA Strategic Demand Leadership team, this role has a high level of visibility to the Mars Food Sales Leadership Teams (SLT) In both US and Canada, as well as the NA Food Management Team including our Canada GM, US VP of Sales, and Regional President.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in CPG industry
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a business or scientific discipline
  • Technical expertise in syndicated (Nielsen, IRI) and Customer loyalty data
  • Strong Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel & Word) capabilities
  • Sales or Category Management experience preferred
  • Ability to travel as required (approximately 10%)



What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Our Shopper Guru: External and internal thought leadership turning deep shopper, customer, and category knowledge into customer centric long-term sustainable category growth
  • Ability to analyze a wide range of data from multiple sources and generate insights that lead to actionable results for Mars and our customers
  • Develop insight based selling stories for critical deployments: FMI Mid-Winters, Regional Sales Meeting, Annual Planning, Ready to Sell Release
  • Partner with Account Managers and Category Managers to develop insights based selling stories, to achieve the sell-in of major growth opportunities at specific accounts
  • Engage with external data providers and researchers to design and execute shopper research projects that advance and strengthen our thought leadership agenda, Category Vision, and Annual Brand Plans
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Partners: this role will require meaningful time spent working with internal partners in Sales, Category Management, Strategic Demand Leadership, Marketing, and Consumer Insights. An ability to build relationships and foster collaboration is crucial.
  • Presentation Skills: Comfort delivering presentations is essential and will be a regular part of this person's workload. Presentations to senior leadership will occur several times per year.
