JOB TITLE: Software Engineer
LOCATION: 10 S Dearborn St, Chicago, IL 60603. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
DUTIES: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre- defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Collaborate in an Agile environment with product owners, feature teams, and operations and technology partners to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer, Architect, Module Leader, Developer, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer, Architect, Module Leader, Developer, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation. Requires experience in the following: Angular; Hibernate; Java; JSON; Maven; Gradle; Oracle; React; SVN; UNIX; Ant; Javascript; Junit; Microservices; Shell Scripting; Splunk; CSS; GIT; Jenkins; Kubernetes; SOAP and REST web services; Spring Framework; Apache Tomcat; J2EE; Software Development; SQL; Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF); EJB; Apache Struts; MySQL; JProbe; JMS; AS/400; Oracle Tuxedo; WebSphere; and XML.
