Duties and Responsibilities 
 Reporting to the Associate Provost and Director of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, the Director of University Assessment and Program Evaluation will work collaboratively across units within the Provost's Office and across multiple divisions within the university to ensure Loyola has implemented systematic university assessment and program evaluation processes. Specifically, this position will:
Lead specified institutional studies with focus on program improvement, capacity building, and continuous improvementSupport the identification, planning, and start-up of future formative continuous improvement studies
Support the use of findings in visualizations, decision making processes, training, and communication for Academic Program Review, annual assessment and program evaluation


Chair the University Assessment and Program Evaluation Committee, leads agenda setting and assures successful implementation of the committee's charge
Partner with other university divisions as they coordinate, build, then implement supports for, and monitors continuous improvement using assessment ofStudent learning of academic program learning outcomes - i.e., Academic Programs and Planning
Student skills developed through academic support services - i.e., Enrollment Management and Student Success
Student development through co-curricular programs and policies -i.e., Division of Student Development

Partner with units integrating assessment of student learning into faculty professional development of their teaching and learning -e.g., Faculty Center for Ignatian Pedagogy
Partner with other university divisions as they prioritize and build sustainable assessment systems for documenting their essential activities, programs, services, and practices
Facilitate and teach academic leaders how to define and detail the major objectives of their key activities
Facilitate and teach academic leaders how to use logic modeling to visually depict the theory of change underlying their programs, projects, or policies
Facilitate and teach academic leaders how to use logic modeling to
Clarify the intentions of projects
Enhance communication within team members and stakeholders
Manage projects
Document projects and how they work
Prioritize key metrics for ongoing assessment of activities and outcomes
Design evaluation plans and determine questions to address
Serve as a critical friend supporting specific program evaluations
Support the gathering of evidence to be used in Higher Learning Commission reports
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience 
 * Earned doctorate in Higher Education, Education Research, or related field
* Minimum of two years of experience in academic assessment, evaluation, research in higher education, or related field
Qualifications 
 Knowledge of the cultures and structures comprising higher education and its context
Skills in research design, survey research design, academic program review, assessment of student learning, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and effective report writing
Ability to lead collaborative teams of peers in creative and challenging work
Ability to independently design and manage work; but with commitment to collaboration
Commitment to foster inclusive excellence

 


Strong Oral and Writing Skills:
* Evidence of Writing and Oral Communication Skills
* Scholarly Written Reports Demonstrating Analytic and Communication Skills
* Presentation Experience to Diverse Audiences using Visualization Tools
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses 
 * Earned doctorate in Higher Education, Education Research, or related field
* Minimum of two years of experience in academic assessment, evaluation, research in higher education, or related field
Computer Skills 
 

Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Power BI
Online tools (Zoom, Teams, Monday.com, OneDrive, Secure Transfer)
