Job Summary
We are looking for Material Handlers for our organization. The Material Handler supports the production operation bystoring, and distributing materials, supplies, and products within the establishment. In this role, you will packer out of ourAurora, ILfacility, reporting to the Production Supervisor.
5 AM to 5 PM 6 days a week
Duties/Responsibilities
Reads shop floor paperwork and/or communicates with foremenand operators to determineitems to be moved, gathered, or distributed for production purposes.
Operates lift truck to transport items to/from warehouse / plant or to pick up items from several locations or different buildings for storage, use in production
Arranges materials in specified sequence for use by other workers.
Stages raw films to coaters and coated films to proper area.
Weighs, counts, and inspects received items to ensure conformance to company standards.
Visually inspects finished product for obvious quality problems during handling
Marks materials with identifying information.
Sorts and places materials or items on pallets, in racks, on shelves, or in floor storage lanes, according to size, type, style, color, or product code. Rotates stock as required.
Opens cartons, units, pallets, drums, and other containers.
Performs physical inventories.
Assistsproduction staff when required. This may be slitters, packersor coaters.
Assistwith special projects as required by Supervisor/ Lead Person or VP Production.
Maintains order, organizationand cleanliness of work area.
Understands and supports Pregis Quality Policy.
Understands Pregis Quality Objectives, and aids in the achievement of them.
Contributes to the continual improvement of Pregis Quality Management System by following current written policies, procedures, and work instructions, etc., while providing constructive feedback, input, and suggestions.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
1+ years of Sit-Down Forklift experience
Stand-up Forklift experience is a plus
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
