What you’ll be doing:

+ With strategic direction from the Category Merchant, coordinate and implement web selling tools to optimize margin, share of wallet and average order size value. This includes analyzing current data, making recommendations for improvement, using system tools and site functionality to implement those changes. Examples include, but are not limited to, more buying option ribbons, search term reviews, new item content review, updating alts for out-of-stock and discontinued items, up-sell offers such as product upgrades, warranties & services, and family of product relationships.

+ Identify sku moves for improved web and VIP hierarchy placement and communicate to SKU Operations to execute.

+ Identify business specific search needs such as new product launches and vendor compliance and communicate to the Merchandise Operations Search team to execute.

+ Identify content related improvement opportunities such as attributes and values, SKU descriptions, bullets, images, third party content, etc. Work with vendor partners and SKU Operations to execute, with Staples alignment where needed.

+ Programming and optimization of category owned landing pages. Retrieve and analyze ad hoc reporting containing key performance metrics such as visits, conversion, orders and revenue. Review findings and prepare recommendations for improvement with the category merchant followed by execution of approved changes.

+ With direction from the Category Merchant conduct market research, gather industry data, track trends, themes, perform competitive shopping and web experience reviews to assist with item selection and potential customer experience improvements. Ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.

+ With input from the Category Merchant, proactively coordinate and execute all web assets & program promotional pricing throughout all levels of the website. Creation of web ad requests, mock-ups, roadmaps, and creative briefs. Responsible for reviewing accuracy of all assets prior to go-live along with checking offers day of go-live.

+ Partner with SKU Operations to ensure all new items are following Staples’ guidelines and have optimal attributes and values, SKU descriptions, bullets, images, third party content, etc.

+ Responsible for creation of new item builds for CDs and bundle products.

+ Partner with appropriate cross-function teams on Merchandising Knowledge Management and DSS Requests as needed.

+ Special projects and developmental opportunities as determined by the Category Merchant.

What you bring to the table:

+ Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Ability to work independently, prioritize and re-prioritize tasks based on fluctuating deadlines while continually meeting deadlines.

+ Organizational skills and detail oriented.

+ Ability to analyze data, understand key indicators and make decisions using that data.

+ Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

+ Online merchandising experience a plus.

+ Proficiency in Access a plus.
