Job Description

The Position We are looking for a Vice President, Taxation, who will oversee the tax compliance and tax reporting process. The tax team oversees all tax functions, including tax compliance, tax provision, income and sales tax audits across multiple jurisdictions. The role will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Taxation.

Responsibilities

- Managing the quarterly reporting process;

- Co-ordinate and assist in tax compliance work prepared by external tax advisors;

- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on complex tax issues and potential tax exposures;

- Assist SVP Taxation in managing income and sales tax audits;

- Assist SVP Taxation in evaluating tax implications and structuring of M& A transactions;

- Identify process improvements, implementing changes and ensuring best practices; and

- Liaise with all finance teams to ensure an effective communication process.

- Build positive relationships with finance teams and demonstrate effective partnership and collaboration throughout the organization

- Responsible for assessing performance and mentoring of team of tax professionals

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

- CPA, CA designation or international equivalent;

- In-depth knowledge of US taxation;

- Minimum 8 years of industry and/or public tax experience;

- Exposure to taxation in foreign jurisdictions is an asset;

- Cross-border tax experience preferred.
