+ Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.

Comfortable within a Windows OS and learning new applications. MS Office Apps Essential Functions:

+ Assists Coordinator with Client Services issuesResearch questions/concerns from clients regarding testing or billing issues.Receives and resolves client issues in absence of coordinator.Monitors registration errors and follow up with corrections.Manage Physicians Orders faxed by Nursing Home Clients.Maintain Schedule of standing patient orders.Schedule routine visits to nursing home to audit charts.Create and maintain data base to schedule phlebotomist to report to home for lab draws.Acts as contact for Nursing Home questions, concerns or complaints

+ Demonstrates technical skills required to perform clerical functions on Document Management.Maintains, updates, oversees distribution of hardcopy of Laboratory Users Guide as neededResponsible for updating the electronic Laboratory Users Guide.Updates the Safety Manual and assists safety officer with inspections or fire drills.Maintains and assures all Lab Policy and Procedures are in correct format and are up to date.Responsible for archiving all policies to meet regulations.Create and maintains the online system for Policy and Procedures for the laboratory.Provide Clerical support to department coordinators and managers.Revise/Update Doctors Listings in Lab information system.Stays abreast of changes in software and computer functions of computer systems.Maintain Peminic database for Laboratory errors

+ Assures accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results at request of physician.Solely responsible for reporting laboratory results using the CBQ and CCB functions.Phone or faxes results as requested as soon as possible after completion.Routinely and accurately documents reporting of results.Resolves client and physician issues involving reporting.Regularly monitors GFAX to identify problem transmissions and resolves transmission issues.Assures results are communicated to all requested numbers.

+ Assists Laboratory management with various duties.Contributes ideas and assists in implementing changes to insure cost-effective operation of the department.Completes assignments independently, efficiently, and in a timely mannerSupports management by assisting in projects as assigned.Responsible for the typing and distribution of all department service updates.Coordinates use of meeting rooms.Responsible for ordering office supplies as needed.Takes minutes of meetings when needed and distributes minutes within 2 weeks.Responsible for maintaining the Kronos system and performing payroll.Files all personnel records according to regulatory guidelines.Displays a willingness and interest in learning new procedures or in cross training.Assists with LIS projects as assigned.Backs up coordinator to monitor completeness of ref lab requisitions.Conducts internet searches as directed by management.Provides support for other laboratory sections by assisting when staffing shortages in Customer Service, Reference laboratory, and ref lab billing.Generates and reads electronic messages using e-mail system.
