Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Medline is seeking a mid-level Audio Visual Technician to join our Enterprise Collaboration Team. You will support A/V systems and events at our locations in Northern Illinois. The Audio Visual Technician will respond to end user meeting support requests and resolve A/V incidents. Support will be generally focused on the Northfield and Mundelein offices, but will occasionally respond to support requests at our branch locations in Grayslake, Waukegan and Libertyville.
This is a "hand-on" position. The Audio Visual Technician will be heavily involved in all aspects of our A/V team: Event planning, technology selection, coordinating with end-users, working with vendors, collaborating with other Medline teams, and installing A/V systems. We are a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial organization. The ideal candidate will be ready to hit the ground running on day one.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct Preventive Maintenance checks on A/V systems.
- Support VIP meetings with A/V setup and monitoring.
- Setup and operate equipment for town halls, department meetings, and other large events.
- Provide basic troubleshooting and break-fix repairs to A/V equipment including AMX touch-panels and routing systems, Crestron A/V systems, displays, microphones, projectors, video conference endpoints, as well as portable A/V equipment.
- Set/Operate/Strike all A/V equipment needed for events requiring portable equipment.
- Develop a deep understanding of signal flow of existing systems. Be able to determine the quickest possible resolution to get customers up and running during an equipment failure.
- Conduct special projects throughout the year. Project completion will improve the A/V user experience for end users. Special projects may include major updates to A/V infrastructure, exploring and/or implementing new technologies, and other projects as assigned.
- Maintain and develop an understanding of A/V signal routing, programing, and diagnostic actions.
- This is an onsite position with some limited work-from-home opportunities.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience/certification.
Relevant Work Experience
- Knowledge of A/V operation, diagnostics, and real-time break-fix strategies.
- General knowledge of basic networking concepts and desktop troubleshooting.
- Installation and wiring experience with both large and small A/V systems.
- Configuring AMX and Crestron devices is helpful.
- Teams and Zoom administration a plus.
