Position Highlights:
Hyperbaric Technologist
Location: Swedish Hospital - Chicago, IL
Full Time, 40 hours/week
Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Monday - Friday
What you will need:
Minimum Education level of High School diploma or equivalent
Certification in Hyperbaric Technology preferred or ability to acquire such certification in a reasonable period of time.
Preferred but not required: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic with current state license in good standing or C.N.A with IDPH certification in good standing.
Candidate must have at least one-year experience in patient care environment and/or medical hyperbaric experience.
Working knowledge of various control systems of the chamber or ability to acquire such knowledge in a reasonable period of time.
General Summary:
Under the direction of the Clinical Manager and Hyperbaric Physician, the individual in this position will act as the outside attendant and control operator during clinical treatment using monoplace Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) chambers. The individual accepts responsibility and accountability for working within the framework of appropriate regulatory body, where it applies, and follows all hospital policies and procedures. The individual will comply with hospital and nursing philosophy and standards while performing job duties and responsibilities, and will demonstrate competence through the ability to perform functions, including, but not limited to, the examples listed below.
