Alliance Ground International (AGI) is seeking a skilled and experienced Ground Support Mechanic Supervisor to join our team at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD). As the Ground Support Mechanic Supervisor, you will lead a team of ground support mechanics to ensure the maintenance and repair of ground support equipment (GSE) are performed to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency. This role demands strong technical expertise, excellent leadership abilities, and the ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced airport environment.
Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of ground support mechanics.
Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team meets performance goals and objectives.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of ground support equipment, including baggage carts, tow tractors, belt loaders, and other GSE.
Conduct regular inspections to identify and promptly address mechanical issues.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Coordination and Communication:
Coordinate daily activities and assignments for the ground support mechanics.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure the timely availability and functionality of GSE for aircraft operations.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including airline partners, airport authorities, and senior management.
Training and Development:
Implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of ground support mechanics.
Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and advancements in GSE maintenance.
Inventory Management:
Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment to minimize downtime.
Coordinate with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary supplies and materials.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Generate and submit reports as required for management and regulatory purposes.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in ground support equipment maintenance.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical components.
Familiarity with aviation regulations and safety standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is a plus.
