Job Description

New Holdings Inc., (d/b/a Egg Cited Pancake House) seeks a Chef. Develop a menu for Turkish and Central Asian cuisine. Identify spices for Turkish and Central Asia cuisine. Identify preparation methods and ingredients for Turkish and Central Asian cuisine. Manage food costing and inventory. Use knowledge of culinary techniques and practices for Turkish and Central Asian cuisine. Use menu and recipe development techniques. Thoroughly review each recipe and gather all required ingredients. Prepare dishes promptly. Assign tasks to kitchen staff. Communicate daily specials to the wait staff. Ensure visually appealing plate presentation. Arrange the kitchen with essential cooking utensils and equipment, such as knives, pans, and kitchen scales. Oversee Cooks and provide assistance when necessary. Slightly modify recipes as per customer preferences (e.g., reducing salt, eliminating dairy). Monitor food inventory and place necessary orders. Assess food freshness and discard any expired items. Experiment with recipes and propose innovative ingredients. Ensure strict compliance with kitchen area health and safety regulations. Develop distinctive and cuisine-appropriate menus. Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to establish item pricing. Stay informed about evolving trends in the restaurant industry. Maintain the kitchen and adjacent areas in accordance with company standards and health code regulations. Supervise inventory and procure supplies and food from approved vendors. Recruit, train, and manage kitchen staff. Guide and direct kitchen staff in meal preparation, creation, plating, and delivery. Introduce new culinary techniques. Prepare meals and assist with prep work when needed. Operate and oversee the pastry section of the kitchen, collaborating with fellow chefs. Craft various baked goods. Present pastries and baked goods tastefully and attractively. Monitor ingredient levels, supplies, and equipment, ordering as required. Consult with customers regarding customized desserts or baked goods for special occasions. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the bakery section. Identify staffing requirements, aid in recruitment, and provide training. Innovate and create new seasonal recipes and menus,
keeping pace with culinary trends.
