Summary

The Senior Architect, IT Enterprise Solutions is a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, and is responsible for reviewing business requirements brought forward by the IT Business Partners to help propose and design a high-level IT solution when its required to span across multiple Celestica IT platforms. They will ensure that the solution is aligned to business strategy and incorporates best practices. This may involve using a reference architecture or creating a new reference architecture. In situations where the high-level solution requires the introduction of new technologies, the Senior Architect, IT Enterprise Solutions will engage the appropriate IT domain Architects to identify, evaluate and select a new technical solution. The Senior Architect, IT Enterprise Solutions will facilitate the preparation of the initial sizing based on the high-level design by involving all the necessary IT Platform CoE subject matter experts as required. The Senior Architect, IT Enterprise Solutions will use their position and experience to gauge the appropriateness and accuracy of the sizing inputs from the various platform teams to ensure the total sizing is valid and can be justified back to the business stakeholders.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

+ Define and design solutions to address specific needs of functional area or process, are aligned with the business strategy and incorporate Best Practices

+ Facilitate the preparation of sizing based on the high-level design by involves all necessary parties, evaluate the accuracy of the sizing inputs and provide justification to business stakeholders

+ Use reference architecture or create a new reference architecture in order to meet business requirements and design a high-level IT solution

+ Participate in various projects, apply project management processes and assist senior team members in establishing project guidelines

+ Act as the Technical Delivery Lead – review high level business requirements, define technical problems, develop solutions/recommendations and engage the necessary parties to be involved

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

+ Excellent project management skills

+ Identifying and analyzing information or problems to reach the optimum solution for a defined situation or problem

+ In situations of receiving vague requirements, performs user requirements gathering, prioritization and analysis independently within established guidelines

+ Leads design / blueprint process for small projects and develops specifications

+ When required in special circumstances, has the ability to coordinate design/blueprint phase from initiation to implementation, especially for enterprise-wide projects

+ Able to communicate data analysis, reporting and dashboarding requirements to a development team

+ Presents information of technical nature to clients, users and non-technical staff effectively

+ Interfaces directly with client community to define and complete assignments to assure mutual acceptance

+ Ability to complete a requirements definition statement, e.g., RFP, map requirements to a product or service solution, and to evaluate qualitatively / quantitatively the ability of the solution to meet requirements. Additionally, the ability to support the purchasing process.

+ Selects the best tool from IT’s application landscape to use a building blocks to construct a cross-platform solution

+ Proactively seeks out opportunities to expand knowledge of industry best practices and state-of-the-art tools for to support a wide variety of business processes

+ Understands the organization structure and high level functions.

+ Identifies symptoms of inefficient or non-value adding processes and tools

Physical Demands

+ Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

+ Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

+ 10+ years of experience in working with enterprise applications related to Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing operations, with a detailed understanding of how these applications enable business processes

+ Detailed understanding of how business processes span across multiple IT applications and how changes to meet new business requirements can have a potential impact to upstream or downstream applications.

+ 7+ years experience in being able to solicit detailed business requirements from business stakeholders and translate those into IT system requirements

+ 5+ years experience in people management

+ A strong understanding of Project Management processes and methodologies to be able to plan out a rough project schedule required to implement new system changes

+ Proven track record of driving and leading large-scale architectural or delivery projects throughout an entire business through to completion across multiple business and functional domains (i.e. Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc.)

+ Exposure to various aspects of architecture practices: frameworks, business, application, data, security, infrastructure and governance

Typical Education

+ Bachelor’s degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experiency.
