System Director, Coding-Quality Auditing and Education

Position Highlights:
Position: System Director, Coding-Quality Auditing and Education
Location: Skokie, IL
Full Time
Hours: Mon-Fri, standard business hours

What you will do:
Leadership
Provides departmental leadership by serving as direct supervisor to system managers. Maintains a high-level of employee engagement throughout division. Ensures system managers/teams are directing vendor partners effectively and efficiently. Directs full business unit for budgeting purposes and manages to the budget.

Strategy
Consults with institutions or associations and regulatory bodies regarding issues or concerns relevant to coding. Attends and transfers knowledge from internal and external education programs acting as a teacher, preceptor, or mentor for the orientation and education of providers and coding leaders. Uses knowledge to prepare for potential coding risks to organization and develops actionable roadmap (with compliance and coding directors) of coding quality auditing and education for implementation. Directs and guides system managers/teams to the plan for effective internal and external coding audits.

Quality Auditing
Sets ongoing system-wide Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) with system managers for coding quality auditing department, and drives teams to best practices in meeting/exceeding benchmarks. Directs appropriate coding quality auditing for both hospital and professional coding teams and providers. Ensures the teams are responding and acting upon any coding quality auditing corrective action and/or proactive steps to minimize risk to the organization.

Education
Sets ongoing system-wide KPI's with system manager for coding education department, and drives teams to best practices in meeting/exceeding benchmarks. Directs appropriate coding education for both hospital and professional coding teams and providers. Ensures the team is responding and acting upon any coding education needs and/or proactive steps to minimize risk to the organization.
Consults and coordinates with other departments across the system to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate coding quality auditing and education needs. Works closely and collaboratively with hospital coding director and professional coding director.

What you will need:
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience: 6+ years in a coding leadership role
Certification: CCA, CCS, CPC, CCS-P, RHIA (or mix/combination)
