Position Summary
The UIC School of Law, Chicago's only public law school, is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Clinical Professor (75%) & Assistant Dean (25%) for Academic Achievement, Program Assessment & Bar Preparation to join our team.

This position oversees the academic support and advising programs from new JD student orientation through the bar exam, including direction of academic support staff, oversight of programs for students with academic challenges, and coordination of the Expert Learning and bar preparation courses. For assessment, the individual directs a staff who assess student progress toward achieving the law school's student learning outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities - Clinical Professor (75%):
*Teach law students in the classroom or other settings at the J.D. and master's levels.
*Engage in internal and external service activities, including attending law school and University meetings, serving on law school and University committees, participating in scholarly organizations or organizations related to the legal profession, delivering presentations, and providing other services to the academy, community, or legal profession.
Duties & Responsibilities - Assistant Dean (25%):
*Coordinating all academic support and advising efforts
*Coordinating and evaluating the effectiveness of the following programs: SCALES (with the Associate Dean for SCALES and Inclusive Excellence), Expert Learning, Mandate Program, Academic Achievement, and Bar Preparation Programs
*Analyzing and evaluating data to determine opportunities to increase student outcomes on the bar exam.
*Supervising staff members in the areas of academic achievement, and bar preparation.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications


Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school or its equivalent from a foreign country
Demonstrated experience leading an academic support and/or bar preparation program
Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in academic support, academic advising, and bar preparation
Demonstrated experience supervising staff
Demonstrated experience with online curricula development
Demonstrated ability to handle situations with sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
Demonstrated ability to mentor students

The salary is: $135,000 + $15,000 (Admin Stipend)
