Corporate Director of IT Services

Job Description

Duties: 

  • Oversee IT operations and supervise systems and IT staff
  • Develop short- and long-term strategy as it relates to the organization’s IT infrastructure (computer and information systems, security, communication systems) as well as the hospital needs in its clinical and administrative departments.
  • Develop, manage, and track the IT department’s annual budget
  • Consult stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology
  • Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance
  • Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems
  • Provide direction, guidance, and training to IT staff
  • Infrastructure and Operations Support
  • Installation and deployment of new software/hardware
  • Develop and maintain IT related policies for the organization
  • Manage vendors and their related contracts to provide robust solutions and support to the hospital 
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and suppliers
  • Implement and oversee IT service management practice for the organization
  • Ensure proper support structure is implemented and practiced for a 24×7 operational environment.
  • Develop KPIs for the IT department and its services
  • Bring on necessary software and related support and infrastructure to manage various lines of services within the organization.
  • Follow and stress project management practices for all IT related projects
  • Develop, document and revise system design procedure, test procedures, and quality standards
  • Expand or modify a system to service new purposes or improve workflow
  • Annually carry out risk assessments and intrusion prevention initiatives to ensure the integrity of the hospital, its patients, and employees
  • Ensure proper technical change practice is implemented and practiced
  • Oversee the activities of various IT staff to make sure proper support is in place for Incidents, Problems, Requests, and Changes.
  • Understand business technical requirements and provide viable and in time solutions.
  • Carry out technical changes within an ITIL framework and in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Respond to critical technical issues to resume operations back to normal with minimal impact.
  • Take part in application release and new patches and features to ensure they safely roll out to production with proper testing and validations. 

 

Education: 

  • Bachelors in Computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent. 
  • Certified in ITIL, PMP, Six Sigma, and Agile.

 

Qualifications: 

  • 12+ years of experience working in IT operations management or directing, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles
  • Experienced leading, and supporting IT Operations
  • Excellent in documenting and developing Standard Operating Procedures, Infrastructure Design, Processes, and business requirements.

 

Preferred Candidate Must Have: 

  • Experience working within a Medical/Healthcare environment, including working knowledge and experience with HIPAA
