This is a full-time, exempt position. The employee will be expected to work the hours necessary to fulfill the position's duties. Typical work schedule is M-F, weekend work as needed.

Overview

 

Altorfer Power, a leading Caterpillar Power Systems dealership is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager for its Packaging division. The Packaging division builds generator set packages and other power products, including fuel tank bases, enclosures, control panels, etc. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the quality assurance programs, policies, and initiatives. This role ensures that all products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with both internal and external requirements. The Quality Assurance Manager will work closely with the production, engineering, supply chain teams, and customers to drive continuous improvement and maintain the integrity of our products.

 


Basic Duties

 

Supervise and mentor the quality assurance team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to QMS.
Oversee all quality control processes, including inspections, testing, and monitoring of production processes.
Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure product integrity and consistency.
Manage non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence within the operation.
Ensure smooth production operations in collaboration with Power Systems Packaging leadership.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation, including records of inspections, tests, audits, and corrective actions.
Prepare and present quality reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
Ensure proper documentation of all quality assurance activities.
Address customer complaints and quality-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
Collaborate with customers to understand their quality requirements and expectations.
Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality products.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and customer requirements.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in quality assurance.
Implement necessary changes to maintain compliance and improve quality standards.Investigating and address trends with internal and external non-conformance.
Developing and reviewing reports to review with production, management, and engineering personnel to solve quality issues.

 


Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant training and/or certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ CQE, CQM) is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in managing quality assurance teams and programs.
In-depth knowledge of quality standards, methodologies, and tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

 

This position primarily works in an office environment. May, on a continuous basis, sit at a desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer the telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. There may be times when you may need to go out into the service shop, production or warehouse area and will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields).
