We are seeking a highly skilled and talented Mechanical Engineer Supervisor with expertise in smoke sensor development and strong proficiency in smoke and airflow simulation. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of smoke sensor enclosures and airflow systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance smoke sensor solutions that meet the stringent requirements of our customers.

Job Duties

Lead the training, directing, supervising and product development life cycles for 4 - 6 direct engineering teammates.

Define the procedures for the communication and the flow of information in the engineering department.

Coordinate and ensures the implementation new product development, manufacturing support, continuous improvement, program planning and product delivery.

Lead the design and development of smoke sensor enclosures and airflow systems, ensuring optimal performance in detecting smoke particles and minimizing false alarms.

Collaborate with electronics engineers to integrate sensor components into the mechanical design, optimizing placement and alignment for maximum sensitivity and reliability.

Perform thermal analysis and heat dissipation studies to ensure proper operation of sensor components under various environmental conditions.

Oversee the design, prototype sensor enclosures using CAD software, considering factors such as material selection, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

We Value

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

3+ years leading engineering teams and NPI development cycles

Thought leadership, strategy, and supervisory of high performing engineering teammates.

5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on product development.

Motivating and directing employees to ensure compliance with production and quality goals, safety policies, and company rules.

Support engineering disciplines, project team, and field services with drawings, troubleshooting, and technical guidance

Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, or Creo for 3D modeling and design.

Deep understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics principles as they apply to smoke sensor design and airflow analysis.
