Salary/Grade: EXS/8

Target hiring range for this position will be between $67,000-$68,500 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Job Summary:
The Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement will serve an integral role in the overall marketing and promotion of Northwestern Athletics with a primary focus on select sport programs.Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs, this position will facilitate the development and execution of strategic plans enhancing brand awareness, ticket sales, the fan/game experience and other revenue generating initiatives.This role will work closely with all members of the Athletic Department as well as numerous constituencies withing the University community.

Specific Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary from the Marketing department for assigned sport programs participating in cross-functional teams, collaborating with numerous external units within the department. This position will also serve as the secondary marketing contact for Northwestern Football working with the Associate AD of External Affairs on overall marketing strategy and the marketing plan.
For assigned sports programs, facilitate the creation and implementation of a comprehensive marketing, ticket sales, game experience, community engagement, social media, and email campaigns including coordinating calendars and timelines with each external operations unit.
Serve as the gameday event director and producer for Football and other assigned sportswhich includes creating game scripts, directing in-game fan experience elements, working to ensure sponsorship fulfillment and the scheduling and onsite oversight of gameday staff.
Serve as a liaison between the sports program and the department's community relations unit to enhance the profile of the team's involvement in the community.
Assist with special programs and events for the athletic department such as the Randy Walker Memorial 5K, Kids' Club, Meet the Team Night and others.
Serve as the liaison for the marketing department with various constituents on campus, as well as within the Evanston and Chicago communities.
Works closely with the staff of each program to ensure alignment with department and team initiatives.
Collaborates with the ticket sales and operations department to effectively price season, single-game, and group tickets to maximize revenue and attendance.
Helps manage distribution of email communications to ticket buyers, fans and season-ticket holders.
Helps manage Northwestern Athletics email database and communication through Paciolan and Eloqua Marketing Automation.
Collaborate with ticket office in developing messaging and execute email marketing and automation into maximize all revenue opportunities within the Paciolan and email system.
Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.
Responsible for adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and trainings.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor's degree in related field or successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
3-5 years of proven success in marketing, revenue generation, live event production, email marketing, advertising, or other similarly related field.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across all teams.
Ability to work in dynamic fast paced environment.
Experience using Oracle Eloqua marketing automation tool.
Experience creating comprehensive marketing plans.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to establish engaging relationships within and across racialized and other marginalized communities
Proven expertise in communications including writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
