Description and Requirements

Lenovo is seeking Director, Intellectual Property Litigation , reporting to the Executive Director, Global Litigation. The successful candidate will manage and drive both offensive and defensive intellectual property litigation cases from complaint to conclusion, collaborating with internal and outside counsel, specific subject matter experts, technology experts, business analysts, and company clients.

Basic Qualifications:

+ J.D. Degree with strong academic credentials

+ Current bar membership in the US

+ A 15+ years of legal experience with 5+ years of law firm experience preferred

Prefered Qualifications:

+ Significant IP litigation experience focused on high tech products including cell phones and computers

+ Experience with international IP litigation and arbitration, particularly in Germany, India, China and the UK

+ Experience with offensive IP Litigation

+ Experience leading litigation tasks, discovery management/collection, and working effectively with other attorneys and paralegals

+ Management experience required

+ Pre-trial/disposition, mediation, and motion practice experience are requirements

+ Ability to prioritize and handle multiple matters simultaneously

+ Demonstrated business acumen, strong analytical skills, and the ability to grasp important business issues and legal issues facing the company

+ Trial experience, first or second chair and motion practice, is preferred

+ Significant experience advising on litigation strategy and positions, predicting risk-adjusted costs of pursuing litigation, determining and managing case budgets, and developing/evaluating settlement proposals

+ SEP litigation experience strongly preferred

+ Strong communication and presentation skills are required to explain complex legal matters to business leaders in a manner that is readily understandable in order to ensure well-informed business decisions

+ The candidate should demonstrate an ability to thrive in a large, global environment while coordinating the efforts of an outside counsel network within limited budgets

+ Experience with commercial litigation (class actions, bankruptcy, general liability) a plus

Location: Morrisville, NC or Chicago, IL preferred, but US remote may also be considered.

The base salary budgeted range for this position is $200k – 250K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. Lenovo’s various benefits can be found on 1www.lenovobenefits.com.
