Job Description

The National Sales Director for the Physician Office & Non-Acute Pharmaceutical selling team is responsible for achieving financial goals and expanding Cardinal’s footprint across the non-acute markets, with a heightened focus toward an IDN’s supply chain alignment. The Director will help build and evolve the long-term enterprise value offering to this customer segment, while coordinating resources with executive leadership across Cardinal business units to win new business and become a better partner to the customers we currently support. The Director is accountable for coordinating the non-acute distribution strategy and to prioritize the opportunity within Cardinal Health, with a particular focus on sales leadership for medical and pharmaceutical products, as well as operational support and service of the non-acute distribution model.

*We are currently recruiting for one Director who can be located anywhere within the US.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

+ Manage the success of the relationship between Cardinal Health and the strategic customer as it specifically relates to their non-acute supply chain.

+ Maintain an executive on-site presence at each strategic customer with skills & title commensurate to that of customer leadership (C-Suite, Head of Supply Chain, Physician Group leadership level).

+ Develop and maintain Cardinal’s position as a thought leader within the Physician Office market as tied to IDNs.

+ Develop, prioritize, and drive non-acute distribution strategies within Cardinal Health to deliver both selling results, as well as enhance operational support for non-acute customer requirements.

+ Coordinate internal and external resources to maintain the relationship, improve profitability, and create intended value.

+ Demonstrate critical thinking and innovation in developing new solutions to address complex and strategic issues beyond CAH offering.

+ Negotiate and collaborate across Cardinal to influence support for mutually beneficial outcomes.

+ Matrix management ability to execute, refine and evolve Cardinal’s non-acute value proposition.

+ Ensure further penetration of Cardinal Health products into new channels; identify and qualify new revenue opportunities and develop plans for introducing new solutions.

+ Manage the budget associated with non-acute customer profitability to ensure economic commitments are met.

+ Measure and communicate progress of financial goals and objectives.

+ Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives.

+ Work in collaboration with the acute sales team regional leaders to ensure business objectives are aligned and met across acute and Physician Office markets.

+ Drive sales execution to achieve both territory and customer specific objectives to support existing base business.

+ Bring consistency and predictability to expectations, reinforce sales discipline, educate and drive accountability with sales team.

+ Hire, train, develop and support talent to own day-to-day relationship for new Cardinal non-acute distribution wins.

+ Be an inspiring leader, drive a positive culture and lead the sales organization to achieve its objectives through development, retention and ongoing management of talent.

+ Support & attend regular business reviews with leaders of both Cardinal and strategic customers on business and financial performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.

+ 5+ years sales experience preferably in healthcare strongly preferred.

+ Proven leadership capabilities, including ability to manage diverse personalities/skill sets in a changing environment.

+ Ability to retain customers and ensure high customer satisfaction rating.

+ Ability to motivate and manage a geographically dispersed labor force and develop talent.

+ Demonstrated matrix management skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams.

+ Executive presence and solid presentation and communication capabilities.

+ Comprehensive communication and negotiating skills adept at all levels of C-suite provider leadership (Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Clinical -Pharmacy).

+ Ability to travel 50% of time, Nationwide.

Anticipated salary range: $201,000 – $255,000 (Includes sales variable pay)

*The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardina Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
