Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, responsible for performing microbiological analysis on raw materials, finished goods, and stability samples as assigned. Reviewing routine and non-routine laboratory data as well as perform deviations and out of specification investigations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data review of routine testing, certificates of analysis, and other laboratory data
- Investigation on out of specification or trend results
- Deviation investigations
- As needed, perform routine testing to meet business needs.
- Perform non-routine assignments to conduct analysis on product/material samples.
- Use laboratory instrumentation and computer systems to collect and record data.
- Recognizes malfunctions in laboratory equipment and notifies management.
- Follow all procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices under Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related science.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least 1 year of experience in QC and/or R&D microbiology laboratory.
- Experience with testing antimicrobial products/materials.
- Proficient in LIMS.
- Knowledge of R&D and/or QC Microbiology compendial test methods.
- Able to determine if a gap analysis is necessary.
