Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Medline Industries, LP has an immediate opening for a R&D Manager - Project Management. This position will oversee and be accountable for a team of Medline R&D Project Managers responsible for ensuring business projects are completed on time, in scope and within budget. This position will collaborate with other department leaders to understand key business initiatives across the company and how R&D Project Management can support their project goals. The team that this position will be leading will consist of project managers and senior project managers with a wide array of project scopes across all of Medline's product divisions. Project scope may include but are not limited to new product development for medical devices, remediations, re-branding, equipment expansion, and changes to an existing product.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and oversee project management team ensuring that projects are being planned with set deadlines, prioritized tasks and assigned to team members for successful deliverable execution.
  • Accountable for project team metrics ensuring that project platform is updated and proper documentation is maintained to meet team goals.
  • Contribute to resource planning for project management team understanding staffing needs and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with cross functional leaders to understand business need, identifying projects, developing timelines, identifying necessary resources and establishing clear lines of communication to ensure successful execution.
  • Oversee the creation, review, approval, and execution of new or updated product development policies and procedures.
  • Review and provide guidance on project plans produced by project management team to ensure compliance and help with creative problem solving on timing, scoping and budgeting disconnects.
  • Analyze financial data, including project budgets and resource allocation on projects to provide accurate budget tracking for projects.
  • Fosters and maintains positive relationships with internal and external colleagues ensuring timely and accurate communication.

Management responsibilities include:

    • Day-to-day operations of a group of employees.
    • May have limited budgetary responsibility and usually contributes to budgetary impact;
    • Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops.
    • Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies.
    • Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning.
    • Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.



Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or related field

Work Experience

  • A least 4 years of experience in the healthcare industry.
  • At least 2 years of direct management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other members of a team.
  • Experience assessing and initiating actions independently. Experience taking charge of a situation, team or project.
  • Experience processing all relevant details, understanding and prioritizing their importance and drawing clear and concise conclusions.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
