Job Description:
You are a Technology Analyst in the Compliance & Reporting ("C&R") function within the Global Tax Organization supporting all business segments of Mars Incorporated. As a Technology Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in integrating technology solutions into our tax processes, optimizing efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain tax technology tools and platforms, ensuring seamless integration with our existing systems.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, accounting, or finance from an accredited university required
- Proven experience in tax technology, with a strong understanding of tax software applications and platforms, preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and develop effective solutions
- Desire to leverage AI to optimize tax processes
- Experience in data analytics systems (Alteryx, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau) with implementation experience preferred
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or R, with experience in data manipulation and analysis, preferred but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality
What will be your key responsibilities?
Process Optimization:
- Analyze existing tax processes and identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
- Develop and implement technology-driven solutions to streamline tax workflows and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with tax professionals to understand their needs and requirements, tailoring technology solutions to meet their specific objectives.
Technology Integration:
- Evaluate and select technology solutions to streamline processes and improve productivity.
- Integrate tax software applications with existing systems to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless implementation and integration of tax technology solutions.
System Maintenance and Support:
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for tax software applications, troubleshooting issues and resolving technical challenges.
- Monitor system performance and implement upgrades or enhancements as needed to optimize functionality.
Intellectual Curiosity, Training and Documentation:
- Be intellectually curious in tax technical matters and partner with experienced tax professionals to learn tax law and tax accounting.
- Provide training and support to tax professionals and staff on the use of tax technology tools and platforms.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including user guides and training materials, to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure effective utilization of technology solutions.
- Self-Learning - it is critical that this role continues to learn new skills in data management, technology, and knowledge of the business.
