Position: Senior Workday Payroll Analyst

Location: 4901 Searle Parkway, Skokie IL

Full Time

Hours: Monday- Friday, 8am- 4:30pm

Job Summary
The Senior Workday Payroll Analyst manages a variety of projects, programs and employee communications for the Payroll department.The individual must have a strong working knowledge of Payroll, HRIS, Compensation, and Benefits functional areas and demonstrates excellence in change management, ERPs, Time & Attendance and Mergers & Acquisitions. Able to accurately respond to team member inquiries, assist in dealing with escalated payroll issues, special projects assigned to the team, and provide training, tools and education across the organization regarding time entry and other payroll related matters. This position will execute, analyze, research and resolve business processes or escalated issues related to payroll processing and issuance.

What you will do:
Responsible for managing the communication and relationship with various payroll service providers or vendors.
Also has a lead role in supporting the timekeeping processes and functionality in the ERP system.
Executes advanced payroll processes.
Identifies and assists with process and system improvement initiatives to continually improve the delivery of payroll.
Research pertinent laws, regulations and practices regarding payroll to provide recommendations for escalated issues.
Performs complex audits.
Identifies overpayments & process reversals, conducts API pay rule audit to ensure accuracy of data.
Prepares periodic, monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting
Prepares tax amendments, W2-Cs, and escheatment.
Leads testing of payroll software updates, implementations, and process and configuration changes.
Collaborates with internal and external team members to resolve escalated payroll issues.
Assesses project impact on the team. Plans for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual work effort across team and department.
Handles escalated payroll issues to ensure team member issues are resolved in timely manner and high-quality standards and customer service.
Acts as back-up to payroll manager when required

What you will need:
Education: Bachelor's Degree (OR equivalent work experience)
Certification: APA, FPC, CPP certifications preferred
Experience:
6+ years of advanced payroll processing in a large organization
Workday and API experience preferred
Working knowledge of payroll operations, tax compliance and regulatory requirements
3+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll Experience in production environment
2+ years of Workday configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and reporting
Working knowledge of how Workday absence, compensation, and benefits flow into payroll
