Job Description
Reporting to PM, provide technical guidance in and develop and implement procedures for software system testing, programming, and documentation. Work with the development team for overall code quality.
Analyze and understand the project QA requirements and technical challenges. Develop high-level testing strategies and communicate the QA plan to management, peers, application project team, and other stakeholders. Communicate testing risks to IT Project Management. Collaborate with developers, quality assurance analysts, and other stakeholders on software projects. Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
Review all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met. Act as a key point of contact for all QA. Troubleshoot issues with and for QA team members. Define the systems performance and scalability standards with implementation recommendations for different types of solutions.
Work across different phases of various solutions to provide the application scalability and desired performance recommendations. Guide and work with engineering teams towards design and implementation. Recommend or develop tools and establish governance mechanisms to ensure the compliance to various performance and scalability standards recommended. Work independently with internal and external stakeholders for application performance and scalability requirements. Seamlessly work across cloud and on-premises platforms and provide best fit scalability and performance recommendations across different solution options including platform as a service, scaling up and down, and monitoring.
Test, tune, troubleshoot, and monitor software solutions, OS, and networks to fit performance and non-functional SLAs. Execute non-routine and very complex assignments, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in software performance. Lead contributions individually and as a team member, provide direction, and mentor juniors. Foster proactive performance engineering by crafting performance lab experiments based on production user behavioral analysis. Drive improvements in system availability, reliability, and consistency of software performance across solutions.

Note: In lieu of a Master’s degree in Information and Communications Technology (Concentration: Software Design and Programming) or equivalent with three years experience, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Information and Communications Technology (Concentration: Software Design and Programming), or equivalent with five years experience.
