Job Description

Provide individual therapy to patients across a variety of presenting problems and diagnoses, ages, and cultural backgrounds, from an integrative framework. Demonstrate a commitment to working within a multicultural systems framework. Conduct new patient diagnostic interviews, including crisis assessments, crisis-related case management, and linkage to other resources, developing treatment plans. Perform clinical assessment, dynamic formulation, and short-term and long-term treatment of assigned patients presenting with a wide range of conditions using primarily psychodynamic methods; Perform adult individual psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy with an emphasis on the use of transference/countertransference and interpretive understanding. Conduct couple and family therapy. Provide care in accordance with the ethical standards and requirements governing the practice of psychologists.

 

Requires a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Postdoctoral Clinical Psychology Fellowship. Experience must include: a) clinical assessment and short- and long-term psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy with an emphasis on the use of transference/countertransference and interpretive understanding of adult patients presenting with a wide range of conditions; b) conducting couple and family therapy; c) conducting group therapy/consultation; d) conducting personality assessments with an emphasis on cognitive and performance-based measures; e) participating and presenting in clinical seminars and case conferences; and f) carrying out case management and administration, treatment plan reviews, insurance authorizations, risk management, and collegial support; and g) providing weekly on-call duties.
