Position summary

T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Managers, Engineering RF Deployment located in Downers Grove, IL will be responsible for the design, optimization, and performance of the network and ensure consistency within the department.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Work with subordinates to maximize coverage and capacity while minimizing cost.
Organize team for efficient execution against goals and objectives.
Manage the relationship between the market, Region, and local departments in the market.
Manage staffing of unit or department, including interviewing and selection.
Manage subordinate RF Managers and/or all levels of RF Engineers.
Use the regional supplied goals to help set annual and quarterly goals for team to achieve market and regional KPI targets.
Establish operational assignments and work assignments for direct reports.
Mentor staff to achieve personal and professional growth.
Perform quarterly performance reviews and provide feedback.
Interface with Sales and Customer care team.
Provide support and technical assistance as necessary so the Sales and Care teams can best service our customers.
Work with Sales on large scale prospects and provide all necessary support to add customers.
Coordinate coverage plans with sales leadership to best align investment with opportunity.
Support Director with financial management.
Work with federal, state and local jurisdictions to insure regulatory and zoning compliance.
Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Skill requirements:

(1) Using LTE, 5G Base Station Subsystem, Optimization, and Design knowledge to lead engineering teams and development projects to deploy 4GLTE, VoLTE, and 5G technologies within the wireless space;
(2) Utilizing RAN theory, capacity data, Nokia OSS tools, and Radio Network Performance tools to conduct LTE, VoLTE, and 5G optimization and troubleshooting;
(3) Coaching and mentoring engineers to improve individual successes, while delivering on timelines and market goals of best Network KPIs and Network built plan with high accuracy and quality;
(4) Utilizing understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) Planning Tools, propagation modeling, advantages & disadvantages of various mobile phone standards and the Site Design Process to design new outdoor, indoor, DAS, and Small Cell sites;
(5) Delivering a training curriculum, processes, and procedures to mentor RF Engineers, improve results, and maximize productivity; and
(6) Utilizing understanding of RF propagation, RF transmission, and Antenna/RFDS theory to ensure cell site regulatory compliance standards are met (including FAA, FCC, and MPE compliance).

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Business Administration, Electronics and Communications or related or its foreign equivalent, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Business Administration, Electronics and Communications or related or its foreign equivalent, and 7 years of relevant work experience.
