Duties and Responsibilities
General lab management:
Orders lab supplies, handles shipping, replenishes common lab reagents, and maintains orderly records of these activities.
Participation in group and departmental meetings and seminars.
Maintains a safe and orderly lab environment. Ensures compliance with safety regulations.
Provides routine communication between the lab and the PI.
Project Management:
Independently performs experimental techniques and operates specialized equipment. Analyzes experimental results. Tries out and optimizes new protocols and as directed by the PI.
Communicates with other departments and groups to aid project progression
Train members of the lab as appropriate
Maintains knowledge and records of research being conducted by all members of the group
Coordinate time, people, and resources to facilitate project progression
Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired expertise:
Experience with microfluidics and/or bioengineering
Some molecular biology experience
Knowledge and/or interest in learning computational techniques and basic scripting (R, Python, Matlab) is a plus.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelors Degree
Preferred: Masters Degree
Specify Degree(s): Biological or physical sciences
Minimum Experience: Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
