Job Description
Zurich (Schaumburg, IL) seeks a Business Analyst III to work with the team to translate business requirements into technical specifications for application updates related to projects, enhancements and compliance needs while working in an Agile environment supporting the design, construction and implementation of these updates to the applications. Specific duties include: assisting with formulating and defining systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with a basic understanding of business systems and industry requirements; guiding users in building business cases, performing impact analysis, and supporting application testing, implementation and training activities; assisting with creation and refinement of design on new functionality; supporting the development team; working with BA & Project Team to develop and present technical concept alternatives, integration decisions, issues, and plans; evaluating project impact through consultation with the business, regulatory / compliance, information technology management, development, quality assurance, validation, and training teams; analyzing insurance circulars and filing materials and translating into functional requirements; and reviewing, augmenting and facilitating the development and execution of quality test plans. Position requires Agile Scrum Master Certification. Position requires occasional travel within the U.S. May work remotely 60 % of the time.
Position requires a 3 or 4 year Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, or a closely related field of study, plus 7 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Test Lead, Test Consultant, or similar position translating business requirements into technical specifications for application updates. Must have 3 years of experience working with Surety Bond contractual obligations, provisions, and administration in the systems development context. Specific experience must also include working with: insurance and Surety Bond application system design, analysis, and testing; User Story and use case development; JIRA; SQL Server DB query writing and reporting; insurance industry business processes; insurance policy administration and underwriting; applying various delivery approaches and testing practices including Agile, Waterfall, and Scrum; leading and working on Agile Scrum teams and facilitating requirements development discussions with Scrum Product Owners and team members; and collaborating across many teams. Must be certified Agile Scrum Master. Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S. May work remotely 60 % of the time.
