Senior IT SAP Analyst

Job Description

Essential Job Functions

 

  • Liaison to business users and key stakeholders to understand and evaluate current business processes, facilitate business process improvement discussions, identify solutions for complex business problems, and translate business needs into system requirements.  
  • Perform support for both maintenance and minor enhancement requests as well as manage system integrators on large projects and major enhancements. 
  • Lead the creation and implementation of new/enhanced SAP functionality including the following:
    • Identify, gather, and document clear and complete functional requirements including impacts and changes to business processes and procedures.
    • Analyze options and design potential solutions. 
    • Prepare or update functional specifications for proposed changes including configuration, RICEFW (reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows), and security. 
    • Perform minor configuration tasks. 
    • Maintain security role mappings and segregation of duties and functional workflow administration.
    • Plan, perform, and monitor unit, system, and integration testing and facilitate user acceptance testing.
    • Assist with training and related documentation, including job aids.
    • Plan and deploy releases into production system environments including the rollout of new processes and procedures.
    • Update technical system documentation and business process documentation.   
    • Provide system support including the management of change requests, reporting of business metrics, and assistance to business users. 
  • Troubleshoot problems, conduct root cause analysis, and help facilitate the correction and resolution of defects with internal support teams and operations groups and/or with vendors. 
  • Research and make recommendations to promote and implement best-practice solutions that leverage SAP functionality to continuously improve business processes.
  • Support organizational change management and training to ensure application solutions are adopted and fully utilized.
  • Contribute to establishment and compliance with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology, standards, tools, system documentation, procedures, practices, and goals; seek out and recommend continuous improvement opportunities to enable IT process standardization and optimization.
  • Understand multiple end-to-end business and technology processes, functions of SAP and non-SAP systems, and integrations to become a subject matter expert.
  • Provide technical or functional leadership and mentoring for less experienced colleagues and power users as required.
  • Strive to continually learn new SAP functionality while deepening knowledge in assigned functional areas by participating in SAP user community and continuous learning opportunities.

 

Qualifications

 

Skills and Experience (Required)

  • Minimum 5 years’ working knowledge and experience of SAP modules including ECC, SRM, Purchasing, Materials Management, Inventory Management, Contract Management, and Material Requirements Planning.
  • Minimum 5 years experience on contracts, shopping carts, purchase orders, GRs, SRM Org structure and workflows.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting SAP application maintenance and enhancements which include working in SAP Solution Manager, performing minor configuration tasks, and writing functional specs for RICEFW.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with business process mapping and requirement definition.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in planning and developing test plans, managing and executing testing, and verifying test results. Working knowledge and understanding of IT SDLC processes and methodologies.
  • Experience with eliciting and creating consensus on requirements across different organizational units and describe business designs in terms that can be turned into functional and technical designs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Highly effective time and project management skills, including ability to coordinate design, testing and implementation.
  • Team player with the ability to develop effective working relationship with personnel from other cultures and backgrounds.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Dedicated, self-directed, motivated, proactive, and inquisitive with ability to react quickly and effectively to issues and opportunities.

 

Education (Required)

  • 4-year college degree in IT, Computer Science, Finance or Accounting or other relevant fields.

Skills and Experience (Preferred)

  • SAP S/4 HANA and Fiori experience.
  • SAP BI experience. 
  • Experience with at least 1 full cycle SAP implementation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Agile methodologies.
