Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
To serve as the primary operational staff member in the preparation and implementation of the Arts & Ideas series. This role reflects the significance of the Arts & Ideas series in the academic development of the students at Lewis University and engagement of the surrounding community.
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Assist the professional staff in all aspects of Arts & Ideas event management, from design and development to implementation. Responsible for preparing event materials and executing event-day plans.
-Update and maintain an appropriate record-keeping system which will include attendance and outcome evaluations for Arts & Ideas events, as well as an evaluation of provided services to the university.
-Create, execute, and manage marketing strategies and materials (including event posts on Patch) to promote upcoming Arts & Ideas events.
-Write, curate, and update content for the Arts & Ideas blog on a regular basis.
-Manage Mailchimp mailing list and implement email marketing strategies to foster and increase subscriber engagement.
-Collaborate and work cooperatively with University departments to provide comprehensive support for Arts & Ideas events, while promoting the program's value internally to faculty and staff, and externally to enhance the University's image.
-Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Must be enrolled and maintain satisfactory progress in one of Lewis University's graduate programs. Must possess initiative, self-motivation, and be detailed-oriented. Excellent proficiency in English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Ability to lift and transport heavy items, such as portable podiums, easels, etc. Must have basic knowledge of set-up and operation of different audio/visual equipment. Proficient in computer usage and typing. Must be willing to work with flexible schedules involving events and weekends. Hours are variable with the programming.
