Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary 
 The Graduate Assistant for the Student Wellness Center ill perform a range of administrative and program support activities and services to assist in the efficient operation of the Center's role and responsibilities in collaborative efforts with health awareness, wellness, education, and outreach with other Lewis university departments.
Responsibilities 
 Responsible to to model and support the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, and respectful collaboration.

 

-Perform a range of administrative and program support activities and services to assist in the efficient operation of the Center's role and responsibilities in

-Support Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse and/or Center Office Coordinator in assisting students who are seeking health services, promote effective access to care and overall service flow.
-Promote peer leadership and involvement in mental health and wellbeing training initiatives-i.e. Center liaison to student organizations.
-Participate in triage and scheduling for students seeking services in the Center and promoting their access to appropriate care and resources.

-Developing and carrying out marketing and advertising of programs, promotion on social media as needed and assigned.

-Participating in departmental/committee meetings for purposes of program planning and development as directed.

-Assist with gathering, entering, calculating and documenting data, evaluations, and quality improvement measures for Center.

-Engaging in relevant Center and university-wide professional development opportunities.

-Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications 
 -Must be enrolled and maintain satisfactory progress in one of the graduate programs at Lewis University.
-Have an official transcript on file in the Office of Admissions
-Must meet Lewis University's employment and graduate assistant eligibility.

-Ability to be self-motivated, independent problem-solver, and to conduct oneself in a highly professional and ethical manner.
Preferred Qualifications 
 -B.S.N. degree in Nursing, B.A., Healthcare Leadership, B.A. in Social Work, B.S. Exercise Science, M.S. Mental Health or School Counseling or closely related field preferred.
-Seeking M.S.N. (open to specializations - School Nurse, FNP most relevant to role or Healthcare Systems Leadership) or consideration of M.S.W. degree, M.S., Exercise Science or M.S. Health Information Management.

-Experience assisting with wellness program planning, marketing and implementation preferred.

-Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

- Competent writing and oral communication skills, including public speaking.

-Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, basic graphic design programs (i.e. Canva), social media (i.e., Instagram) helpful, and Google applications
