Job Description
ATS Design Studio (Bensenville, IL) seeks an Interior Designer to design, develop and coordinate interior and furniture projects for residential buildings, shopping centers, offices, medical institutions, etc. Specific duties include: develop interior/furniture designs and create precise drawings by using 2D and 3D modeling software, such as ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, and rendering software, such as Corona Renderer or SketchUp, and Adobe Photoshop; confer with other Architects/Designers to work on designs in accordance with the customer’s wishes; arrange furniture in interior projects, decorative wall panels, etc. designed by ATS Design Studio, Inc. on an individual basis; select crown molding, color palette, and accessories, arrange household appliances; interact with Company managers and carpenters to communicate and enforce project goals and deadlines; utilize knowledge of various types of building structures and building materials to develop technical specifications for the design of interiors and furniture; visit project site to measure the premises, and oversee the installation of furniture and interior décor elements; and utilize understanding of the operation of the internal engineering systems of a building in daily duties. Must submit letters of recommendation and an electronic portfolio demonstrating proficiency in computer software, spatial and logical thinking, creative abilities, ability to design and construct, and knowledge of building materials used in interior design and building construction prior to interview. Travel required to client sites within the U.S as needed.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Interior Design, Architecture or a closely related field of study, plus 2 years of experience in the job offered, or as an Architect, or similar position in interior design or architecture. Specific experience must include: developing interior/furniture projects using 2D and 3D modeling software, such as ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, and rendering software, including Adobe Photoshop, and Corona Renderer or SketchUp; working with architectural drawings and internal engineering equipment inside buildings; and developing technical specifications of interior space and furniture. Must submit letters of recommendation and an electronic portfolio demonstrating proficiency in computer software, spatial and logical thinking, creative abilities, ability to design and construct, and knowledge of building materials used in interior design and building construction prior to interview. Travel required to client sites within the U.S as needed.
