Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Federal Sector, Market Sector Leader for immediate employment in one of the following locations: San Antonio, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; Dallas, Texas; Omaha, Nebraska; Kansas City, Missouri; or Denver, Colorado . Professional registration is preferred but not required. Familiarity and experience with Federal clients in the western region of the continental United States, Hawaii, Guam, Korea and Japan preferred.

The Market Sector Leader is responsible for driving the growth, strategy and sales of AECOM Program & Project Management (PPM) Business Line services for the Federal Government within the US West region. Accountable for the development of business opportunities by networking with the various government agency clients within the National Government industry to advance growth and profitability in the market with a focus on program, project and construction management services.

Position Description:

+ Drives execution of tactical business plans with direction from a region business line leader for growth and profitability of regional business line, implementation and execution of US West Region business line strategy and programs.

+ Drives regional business line business development activities, regional government client management and manages federal team business line personnel resources including identification and deployment of key team members.

+ Provides input on strategic/operating plan each fiscal year and is responsible for delivering agreed-upon performance metrics that these inform.

+ Leads federal government market team resources within the region and directs the work of associates performing work within the federal government market.

+ Applies in-depth knowledge in all aspects of field expertise, along with interpersonal and problem-solving skills to best position our federal business for success.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Provides industry leadership across the Federal Government market sectors in the PPM Business Line; leads the sales planning process for the business line across the region

+ Oversees development of capture strategies and leads or direct pursuits including capture planning, message development and fee development (as appropriate) for same

+ Analyzes prospective opportunities from a risk/reward perspective and drives go/no-go decisions based on all information involved, including all financial metrics (in coordination with operations support team), prospective teaming partners, ability to respond and positioning compared to competitors; leads risk committee presentations where this analysis is presented for consideration

+ Represents the company in federal government group forums and outward facing leadership roles as appropriate

+ Drives growth and a comprehensive understanding of federal government contracting and procurement process; coordinates with other region resources to best position AECOM to capture work

+ Leverage existing agency contracts and relationships to advance AECOM’s contracting interests with a focus on extending market presence and growing work pipeline

+ Sets direction and develops strategies to capture new business, ensure operational efficiencies, maintain high client satisfaction (CPARS) and oversee program/project execution for the regional business

+ Leads the Federal programs teams with operational and P&L responsibilities.

+ Coaching, mentoring and staff development along with staff expansion driven by market share growth are all key drivers for this role

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor of Engineering, or other related technical bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4+ years in leadership role

+ Experience with various Federal Government Agencies considered a must for this role

+ Experience managing teams in various geographic locations, potentially including overseas operations

+ Willing to travel to project sites and engage with clients, AECOM Team members and others as appropriate to create touchpoints that enhance business relationships and extend contracting opportunities

+ Must be able to obtain HSPD12 Tier 1 Security clearance

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen

+ Must be able to pass Motor Vehicle background check (MVR)

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Professional registration is preferred but not required.

+ Familiarity and experience with Federal clients in the western region of the continental United States, Hawaii, Guam, Korea and Japan preferred.

+ In-depth knowledge of various federal agencies contracting, procurement, and project execution processes

+ Very strong consulting sales skills and ability to operate in a technically complex market and long sales cycle

+ Financial and business acumen (P&L experience) and experience leading teams and programs in multiple geographic locations

+ Experience identifying and cultivating client relationships and leads that result in performance contracting opportunities

+ Proficient in pricing and/or negotiating contracts with clients and teaming partners that consistently maintains AECOM’s best interests

+ Ability to attract internal and recruit external highly qualified talent to support assignments aimed at growing work pipeline

+ Strong leadership, mentoring and coaching abilities to support the delivery of programs and projects

+ Ability to develop and implement multi-disciplinary and multi-geography client action plans, both for sales/growth and program delivery and execution

+ Ability to motivate others to achieve execution goals for business and programs/projects

+ Experience as a Client and/or Program Leader delivering services and projects

+ Strong program, project and/or construction management experience in executing projects, to serve as a lead team advisor in support functions and activities to all project execution teams

+ Strong presentation skills and ability to clearly articulate sometimes complex situations to technical and non-technical audiences

+ Preference given to candidates residing within the western CONUS.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $141,243.45 – $261,300.39.
