Job Description
DescriptionThe University of Chicago's Department of Neurological Surgeryis searching for Clinical Associates at 100% effort for a renewable two-year term. Appointees will contribute to patient care and join a vibrant and distinguished community of faculty colleagues and learners at UChicago Medicine, the Biological Sciences Division, the Pritzker School of Medicine, and the University of Chicago and its affiliates. These positions are expected to practice at off-site locations.
Appointees will provide clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient setting as an endovascular and comprehensive neurosurgeon. Endovascular responsibilities include diagnostic and interventional vascular procedures, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty, RF ablation treatments, CT or fluoro guided biopsies, and pain procedures (nerve root, nerve, facet blocks). Comprehensive neurosurgical responsibilities include cranial surgery, spine surgery, and potentially radiosurgery in collaboration with a radiation oncologist. These positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the States of Illinois and Indiana, 3) be Board certified or eligible in Neurological Surgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery or equivalent, and 4) have completed an endovascular neurosurgery fellowship or equivalent.
