Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
The Graduate Assistant (GA) will work with the Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) in the Office of the Provost. The GA will assist in every aspect of the lifecycle of grants from governmental agencies. The GA will gain wide experience in the management and leadership of sponsored programs from researching funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, compliance obligations, to interactions with funding agencies in support of proposals in preparation and received awards. Organizational and writing skills are essential for the OSP GA.
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Researching government prospects to identify funding opportunities that align with the strategic priorities of faculty, departments, Colleges, and the University.
-Studying guidelines of grant applications and conferring with the Director of OSP about approaches to connect with a funding agency.
-Assisting with reviewing and editing draft proposals, agreements, and reports with comments and suggested changes using the Track Changes feature in Microsoft Word.
- Helping draft grant proposals and assemble application packages with all required documentation.
-Networking with other professionals in the broader research administration community through participation in outside workshops and events.
-Assisting the Director of OSP with the development and management of content on the OSP website.
-Assisting the Director of OSP with compliance obligations such as annual Financial Conflict of Interest disclosures and effort reporting.
-Assisting the Director of OSP with scheduling, record keeping, and database management.
-Other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Must be enrolled, and maintain satisfactory performance in one of Lewis University's graduate programs.
