Autonomy Systems Engineer III
The Hexagon A&P's Autonomous Systems Team is responsible for developing and deploying software to enable our customers to fully utilize their autonomous vehicle's hardware. We are a collaborative team of driven engineers with a mission to simplify and advance vehicle technology to empower our customers to unleash autonomy; driving improved efficiency, productivity, quality, and safety.
As an Autonomy Systems Engineer III at AutonomouStuff, you will work with the latest technology while solving interesting and challenging problems in multiple industries. You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks such as, requirements development and documentation, system architecture, developing Functional and Implementation system diagrams, FMEAs, assist with vehicle control strategies, simulation requirements, coordinating with test engineering, and on-vehicle testing.

This position is with Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division, a global technology leader, pioneering end-to-end solutions industry leaders rely on for assured positioning and autonomy on land, sea and air. Within the Autonomy & Positioning division, your work will contribute to the operation of our brand AutonomouStuff.
The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Engineering HQ in Morton, IL.
Responsibilities
As Autonomy Systems Engineer III, you will:
Advise team on autonomy system architecture, hardware layout, communication protocols, control strategies and algorithms for complex vehicle systems.
Refinement of program requirements to meet customer deliverables.
System Test plan and test instruction creation.
Coordination with Verification and Validation team for system validation testing and traceability to requirements.
Develop Interface Control Documents of vehicle onboard autonomous systems.
Assist Tech Pubs team in developing documentation and training material for various vehicle systems.
Development task and release planning and tracking for the team, coordination with Hexagon project managers.
On-vehicle software/hardware integration, debugging, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in an engineering discipline.
7-12+ years experience of relevant experience.
Professional, adaptable to fast changing requirements, and ability to mentor and coach individual engineers.
Experience with DDS or equivalent pub/sub communications.
Key Success Factors:
Ability to influence cross functional technical teams
Proven collaboration within a technical project team
Nice-to-Have:
Production autonomous deployment experience.
Understanding of C++ software development and automatic code generation for deployment to an embedded Linux environment.
