Job Description

UL LLC (Northbrook, IL) seeks Manager IT Mergers & Acquisitions with bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or management information systems and seven (7) years of experience as an IT development analyst, IT business systems lead, IT project manager or related. Manage and lead all IT assessment and integration activities in support of UL’s Merger and Acquisition business strategy. Work closely with a global team of cross-functional UL leaders to evaluate potential UL acquisition targets and to manage the technical due diligence and subsequent technology integration of global acquisitions. Lead and manage a global team of IT associates in execution of required IT due diligence across all IT Infrastructure and IT Application domains on potential acquisition targets. Document IT due diligence findings, including key issues, risks and associated mitigation strategies. Partner with key global business leadership to understand business objectives and target state business operating model for acquisition targets. Manage internal technology staff in defining and documenting the target state architecture blueprint that enables the defined business objectives for the acquisition and aligns with UL technology standards. Lead, in partnership with key IT domain leads, development of IT integration budget for inclusion in the deal economics. Lead and manage, in partnership with key IT domain leads, development of the IT integration project plan for the acquisition target. Responsible for ontime and onbudget delivery of IT integration projects, often requiring management of 2-3 active integration projects concurrently, each of which has a budget of $1M+. Act as bridge between technical and business audiences during both pre-close and post-close due diligence & integration. Manage IT post close integration work to achieve defined integration objectives. Provide periodic updates to business leadership on integration status. Build rapport with key acquisition business leaders and awareness of stakeholder needs. Recruit, manage, develop and evaluate IT M&A team members. Leverage software application domain expertise in ERP, CRM and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and industry knowledge in TIC.The position requires up to 10% domestic and international travel to visit M&A targets. Must have work experience in each of the following: 1) 4 years of technology M&A experience conducting due diligence and leading business integrations; 2) experience across a diverse set of infrastructure technologies including compute and storage, network, desktop and telephony; 3) experience across a diverse set of enterprise software application domains, including ERP, CRM and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS); 4) experience managing deployment of Cisco, HP, Riverbed, Sonus, Lenovo and CheckPoint hardware; as well as Microsoft 0365, Oracle EBS, SalesForce CRM, and LabWare LIMS enterprise software; 5) experience leading cross-functional global project teams for technology integration of an acquired business; 6) experience working with non-US based global companies; and 7) industry knowledge of the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) sector, including working with conformity assessment bodies that provide services ranging from auditing and inspection, to testing, verification, quality assurance and certification.
