Job Description
Based on specific research program needs, patient facing vs. data administrative responsibilities will vary. Under direct supervision.

As a Research Coordinator, you will oversee two innovative research projects aimed at advancing healthcare and social justice initiatives. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

This position will oversee participant recruitment, participant screening, data collection (using redcap and other databases), and research compliance.

Project Descriptions
Mobile App and Medication Sensor Study: You will be assisting in a clinical trial that will evaluate the feasibility of a mobile app and sensor designed to track asthma medication adherence. This study will require communicating with patients regularly and providing technical support.
Racial Justice Activism and Mental Health Study: Explore the relationship between participation in racial justice activism and mental health outcomes among adolescents. This study involves developing and implementing an educational program that teaches teens about activism and evaluating its potential benefits for mental well-being.

Essential Job Functions:

Assists with study start-up and the preparation and maintenance of all regulatory documents required by sponsor and/or regulatory agencies.

Coordinates study conduct with other departments to effectively implement research projects.

Assists in the development, implementation and tracking of studies with minimal supervision.

Assists with the preparation of protocols, informed consents, modifications, renewals and other necessary documents for review by the IRB and/or sponsor.

Identifies and recruits eligible study participants; conducts informed consent/assent process.

Assists in the delivery of behavioral interventions.

Assists in the identification and recruitment of eligible study participants. Conducts informed consent/assent process.

Helps arrange behavioral study visits and provide instructions to study participants/families.

Attends research project meetings.

Abstracts data from medical records and enters medical information/data onto protocol specific case report forms, study flow sheets, and other required study forms; prepares abstracted/coded data for processing/analysis.

Creates and/or updates research related forms and/or source document templates.

Coordinates reimbursement of study participants under supervision.

Records data in appropriate systems including RedCap.

Conducts literature searches and assists with QA/QC procedures.

Adheres to research protocol in compliance with applicable institutional, local and federal regulations.

Functions as participant liaison for study questions, billing issues, etc.

Promotes the ethical conduct of research by actively participating in research related educational meetings/conferences (planning, presenting, etc.).

Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients. QA/QC checks for database validity and data monitoring. Conducts simple data analysis with supervision Tracking deadlines for grants/deliverables.

Other job functions as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. A combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience is directly related to the duties of the job.

Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in behavioral program or research required.

Knowledge of research regulations preferred.

Strong organizational and communication skills required.

Familiarity with Excel database basics.
